Who we are: 

The Stimul-IT  foundation was established by the Government of Curacao (Department of Economic Affairs) as the "Curacao Informatica Stimuleringsplan" or CISP-foundation in 1994.  


What we do:


Stimul-IT is a foundation that translates international developments in the area of ICT, Knowlede Economy & Information Society into local opportunities. We identify these global trends through the following sources:
ð      Close cooperation with the ICT industry (local & international)
ð      International Guidelines and benchmarks
      o        UNCTAD: Information Economy Report
      o        ECLAC: “ICT Policy Makers Caribbean”
ð      Regular research on ICT use on Curaçao in three area’s: SMB, Islandwide & the ICT industry (in cooperation with CBS, CICA and or UNA).


Mission:

“Stimulating the efficient use of ICT towards a society that creates, shares and uses knowledge for the prosperity and well-being of its people.

Vision:

“To be the center of information about efficient use of ICT towards an increased productivity and sustainable socio-economic development”

Stimul-IT’s activities are directed at all aspects of the transformation towards an Information Society. While Medium and Small businesses still remain an important target group, other aspects of an information society are steadily coming into focus.

The following strategic objectives were identified:

1.       Establish an Efficient & Effective National Approach towards an Information Society

1.1           Contribute to the Establishment of a National  (ICT) Organization for the Information Society
1.2           Contribuite to the definition and realization of a National Information Society Policy

2.       Improve Integration of ICT in Community

2.1           Increased use of ICT as an enabler
2.2           Increased use of ICT as a creator of opportunities
